It's here! The 4th Annual Spirit of Courage Awards
The 2014 Spirit of Courage Awards will be the coolest progressive event of the year. It will be an evening of fun, conversations with fellow progressives, food and drink, and musical performances/collaborations by progressive artists that may never happen again.
The Spirit of Courage award will be presented to Tom Morello, the legendary guitarist and progressive activist, for his lifelong committment to social justice, immigration reform, corporate accountability and labor rights. The award will also be presented to the Rev. Frank Schaefer -- the Methodist minister defrocked for presiding at the same-sex marriage of his gay son. Rev. Schaefer stood up against the church in a trial that lasted more than six years. Stuart Milk, nephew of the late Harvey Milk, will present this award.
We hope that you will join us for a spirited evening, music by Tom and some special friends, moving tributes, great food, and libations. The reception begins at 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.
